Privacy Policy
Breakpoint is a sporting clays and 5-Stand scoring and analytics app, and getbreakpoint.dev is its website. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell your information, and you can delete it any time.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address and password when you create an account. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form; we can't see them.
- Profile details you choose to add. Such as your name, NSCA class and membership number, home club, and gun and choke setup.
- Scoring data. The rounds you record: courses, stations, targets, hits and misses, and squad members' names and scores that you enter.
- Mailing list. If you sign up for updates on our website or in the app, we keep your email address and where you signed up (for example, "website" or "app").
- Subscription status. Whether you have an active free trial or Breakpoint Pro subscription. We never receive or store your card or payment details.
- Anonymous usage counts. The web version of Breakpoint uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (Vercel Analytics) that count visits and pages viewed without identifying you.
Using Breakpoint without an account: if you use the app as a guest, your rounds and settings are stored only on your device and aren't sent to us.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign you in, save and sync your rounds across devices, and calculate your stats.
- To manage your free trial and Pro subscription.
- To send account emails you request, such as confirming your email address or resetting your password.
- If you joined the mailing list, to send occasional Breakpoint news and tips. Every email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email us to be removed.
- To understand, in aggregate, how Breakpoint is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Sharing you control
Breakpoint lets you share scorecards with your squad, send instructor reports to a coach, and export your data as CSV or PDF. That information only leaves the app when you choose to share it, and it goes to the people or apps you pick.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted companies to run Breakpoint. They process data only on our behalf and only to provide their service:

We may also disclose information if required by law.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@getbreakpoint.dev with the subject line "Delete my account" from the email address on your account. We'll confirm the deletion within 2 business days. Guest data on your device is removed when you delete the app.
To leave the mailing list only, use the unsubscribe link in any email or contact us.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with our database provider using industry-standard protections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.
Children
Breakpoint is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Breakpoint changes. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app or by email.
